Re: Stop The Bleed - free medical training

Thanks AndyC for posting. I happened to read your post while at work at 5:50pm yesterday, found a nearby class at Prestonwood Baptist in Plano, and was sitting in the 2hr class by 6:30. Very good class to take. I searched by city instead of zip code. The classes here in the DFW area were being put o...

Re: Entering a “gun free zone” to stop or intervene during an active crime

CDub is on it with necessity. It’s the Doctrine of Competing Harms.

Massad Ayoob also has a good explanation of this doctrine.

Re: LTC-100 and Digital Signing

Download the TinyScanner app or equivalent to your smart phone and take a picture of the signed form at the gun range. The app turns the pic into a PDF file for your records. Then just give the original to the student. This process still requires bringing printed copies of the LTC-100 with you to cl...

Re: Is LTC considered "Weapons training"

In the DPS instructions for Module 2, DPS states that “this module is not designed to teach students how to shoot, but is an overview of the skills related to marksmanship with an emphasis on safety.” Some instructors will charge extra and add some basic pistol training to their LTC course. It reall...

Re: Smooth fingerprints rejected

Thanks for all the input! The follow up to my story is that the student emailed me yesterday saying she received her permit without any issue. Good news for others who might not have good fingerprints.

Re: Wanting recommendations for a Texas Registered Agent

There are private postal service locations that provide you with an address that looks like a suite number and they contact you by text and/or email whenever you have mail to pick up. I would think they would contact you if there was a person who showed up trying to serve you legal papers, as long a...

Smooth fingerprints rejected

Has anyone dealt with having their fingerprints submitted and rejected by DPS twice for not being readable? I have a 77yo student who is taking my LTC class this weekend. She submitted her application early, and had her initial fingerprints rejected for being unreadable, then rejected again after ha...

Re: What are your 2018 shooting goals?

Good shooting Scott. Last time I shot the Dot Torture from about 3yds, my only missed shot was outside the 1 circle, lol. I’ll work on it some more to and try to conquer it from 7yds. I’d like to practice my dry-fire draw using my timer more and get faster. Mike Seeklander is recording some great fr...
