Re: Seeking Holosun Advice

My son carries a G43X with a Holosun on it. I’ll ask him which one he uses, because it should fit your 48. Yep; exactly the same RMSc footprint. I appreciate it. And do I remember correctly that you made the EDC switch some years ago from 1911 to Glock 9mm? I haven't carried IWB in a long time, but...

Re: Seeking Holosun Advice

I have the Holosun 407 x2 on my 48. I went with the Green. Love it. As for mags, I have started using the PSA MicroDagger 15 round mags and after about 500 rounds have not had any issues with them. Thanks for that. I didn't know about the PSA magazines . A couple of the reviews were sort of mixed, ...

Re: Kentucky Bans Hog Hunting

Sounds like clownworld: wildlife experts are encouraging landowners to instead contact the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources to have the animals removed Yeah, this sounds unlikely, impractical, and expensive Also begs the question... Removed to where, exactly? Does Kentucky have some 200,00...

Rapid response! Thanks, guys!

Jose, that link to Freedom Gorilla is spectacularly helpful. I wish my Googling had found it. It even includes some installation info (like I'd need to buy different screws for the best fit) that I'd never have known about otherwise.

Seeking Holosun Advice

I've decided to make big changes to my EDC. I'm going to 9mm, which has never been a standard carry for me, I'm moving to appendix carry, and I want an optic from the get-go. I've settled on the gun, a G48 Gen 5 MOS. It ended up being between that and a SIG 365XL, but the SIG felt just a little too ...

Re: Book Review: The Art Of Modern Gunfighting

I haven't seen Volume 2. Amazon doesn't show any other books by Scott. It's hard work writing a book, so that may have slowed down his plans for a sequel. I'm betting the sequel was most likely to have addressed shotguns and rifles, maybe even small-team tactics since he had done a pretty good job ...

Re: Book Review: The Art Of Modern Gunfighting

Paladin: I nabbed that book a couple of years ago. Mine's a 2012 publication, 2nd edition. Do you know if there was ever a "Volume 2" since this one is subtitled "The Pistol: Volume 1"? I don't want to dissuade anyone from the book--it's excellent--but what made me an immediate k...

Re: Phil Oxley Passed Away & Impactzone Closing?

He died suddenly from a heart attack. I saw a posting yesterday that Impact Zone is closed permanently, and the family will be selling it. I guess it will be up to the buyer if they are going to continue as a range or not. Thanks for that update. Prayers for the family. Is it just me, or are we see...

Re: Which is easier to Maintain, a Mini-14 or an AR15

For a somewhat...extreme example, check out the 8.6 Blackout. Most barrels for the cartridge use a 1:3 twist rate, and one from Gorilla Ammunition is a whopping 342-grain expanding subsonic round. There are YouTube videos showing the wacky effect a big bullet spinning that fast has on ballistic gela...

For a budget-conscious, knock-around option, this today-only special from Brownells might be worth looking at: https://www.brownells.com/guns/rifles/bolt-action-rifles/remington-700-adl-308-winchester-synthetic-stock/ At $450 with no FFL fees (on the seller's end) or shipping charge, it's hard to be...
