Did we have a recent deleted spam post that resurrected this 11-year-old topic? Just curious 'cause I'm not as quick on the uptick as I used to be and I feel like I'm missing something. 
As for shotguns, I was taught to always keep those in "cruiser ready" mode: the tube fully charged, but no shell in the chamber.
