SOF Item concerning Texas CHL holders
Soldier of Fortune magazine recently had an item mentioning that Texas had passed several pro-gun bills, one of which was a law allowing employees to keep their handguns in their vehicle on a company parking lot if they have a CHL. I thought that this bill was shot down. Did I miss something, or did SOF get it wrong?

It'll be re-introduced (maybe wordsmithed a little differently) like it never happened before...

I saw that too, no excuse to for that kind of sloppy journalism.TEX wrote:Soldier of Fortune magazine recently had an item mentioning that Texas had passed several pro-gun bills, one of which was a law allowing employees to keep their handguns in their vehicle on a company parking lot if they have a CHL. I'll admit it's been a few years since I've read a copy of SoF, but they've never been proclaimed as the model of journalistic integrity.Renegade wrote:I saw that too, no excuse to for that kind of sloppy journalism.

I'm not sure what your question is.texaseyes wrote:So bottom line is that the law is the same in a vehicle on company property, whether you have a chl or not, right?
If an employer forbids weapons in employees' vehicles on company property, they can fire people who are caught violating the policy. Depending upon the wording of the notice, violators could be arrested.
IMHO, most companies won't want the publicity.
